Size guide
Boxing glove sizes, and how to size a whole order.
Which glove weight suits which use and which person, how to measure for gloves, head guards, belts and fightwear, and how the sizes for a club or brand order are confirmed before bulk.
- Glove weight confirmed on your sample
- A size chart agreed for each garment
- Size split confirmed before bulk
- Kids’ to adult sizes
Glove weights
Boxing and MMA glove weights by type.
Ounces measure the glove, and most of that weight is padding. Each type sits in its own part of the scale: these are the ranges we make, and your glove's weight is confirmed on your sample.
Kids’ boxing gloves come in 4 or 6 oz, chosen by age and hand size. Competition gloves follow your governing body’s rules for sanctioned events.
Choosing a weight
Boxing glove size chart by body weight, hand size and age.
Typical guides, shared by most brands' charts with small differences. Use them to plan the weights for your members or customers; each glove is confirmed on your sample.
Hand size is the better guide to fit. Body weight is a starting point.
Measuring
How to measure for gloves, head guards, belts and fightwear.
Four measurements cover the whole kit. Take them with a soft tailor's tape, in centimetres.

Hand
Boxing and MMA gloves
- Open the hand you punch with and relax the fingers.
- Wrap the tape around the knuckles, across the widest part, leaving the thumb out.
- Snug, not tight. Read it in centimetres.

Head
Head guards
- Place the tape about 2.5 cm (1 in) above the eyebrows.
- Take it around the widest part of the back of the head.
- Measure two or three times and use the average.

Waist
Lifting belts
- Take the tape around the waist at the navel, where the belt sits when you lift.
- Measure in the clothes you train in, breathing normally.
- Use this, not your trouser size, which is usually smaller.

Garment
Fightwear and club apparel
- Lay a garment that fits well flat, smoothed out.
- Measure across the chest from armpit to armpit, and down from the shoulder to the hem.
- Double the chest figure for the full chest size.

- Chest, body length and sleeve for tops, rashguards and hoodies.
- Waist, hip and leg length for fight shorts and joggers.
- Compression wear is sized closer to the body than regular wear.
- Sauna suits and vests are cut loose, to go over training kit.
The chart and the quantity per size are agreed before production, and bulk is measured against it.

Sizing an order
How the sizes for a club or brand order are settled.
You do not need exact numbers to start. Rough counts by size are enough to plan, and every figure is confirmed with you before bulk.
Count your people by size
Members or customers, by glove weight, hand size and garment size. Rough numbers are enough to start.
Split kids’ from adult
Juniors need their own glove weights and garment sizes, so list them separately.
Agree the size chart
For each garment, a chart is agreed with you before production, and kept for reorders.
Check the fit on the sample
The weight and fit are confirmed on your sample before bulk, then the split per size is confirmed against your quantity.
For coaches
Collect your club's sizes on one sheet.
Print it, hand it round, and each member fills in a row. The totals at the foot are what your quote request needs.
- A row per member: name, junior or adult, body weight, hand, glove weight, head, waist, top and shorts size.
- How to measure, printed on the sheet, so nobody needs this page open.
- Totals by glove weight, top and shorts size, ready for your quote request.
The PDF prints on one A4 page. The CSV opens in Excel or Google Sheets.
