The problem

Why reorders don't match the first order.

Most problems with a second order start at the factory. For a brand selling under its own name, or a club kitting out its next intake, the second order is the one that matters, and it should match the first.

  • Two black and gold boxing gloves side by side: the second, cut from a new pattern, is wider, with the thumb set lower and a broader cuff.

    The pattern is redrawn

The second order is cut from a new pattern, so the fit moves.

  • Two pairs of navy fight shorts, both sold as a medium, under one tape measure: the second pair is narrower and shorter.

    The size chart drifts

Sizes are measured again by someone new, and a medium is no longer the old medium.

  • Two folded red hoodies side by side: the first a deep crimson, the second a brighter orange-red.

The colour is matched by eye

Without the original as a reference, the red of the second batch is a different red.

Here, both orders are made and checked against one approved sample.

Your reference

What we keep on file for your reorder.

Three things, so the next order starts from the first one rather than from zero.

How it works

How to reorder: three steps.

  1. Your part

    Tell us what to repeat

The product or earlier order, and the quantity for each size.

  2. Our part

    Confirm the order

We match it to your approved sample and confirm the dispatch date in writing.

  3. Our part

    Made and checked

Straight to bulk, every piece checked against the same sample.

At a glance

Reorder minimum and timing: first order vs repeat order.

A reorder keeps the product and drops the stages that proved it.

First order

50

pieces or pairs per design, minimum

  • MockupFree, with as many changes as you need
  • SampleMade and with you in 7–10 days
  • BulkStarts when you approve the sample

Reorder

Half the minimum

25

pieces or pairs per design, minimum

  • MockupNot needed, unless the branding changes
  • SampleNot needed: checked against your approved one
  • BulkStarts when you confirm the order

Bulk typically takes 3–6 weeks either way. A reorder starts it sooner, with no mockup or sample stage.

Changes

What you can change on a reorder.

Small changes keep a reorder simple. A change to how the product is made is proved on a new sample first.

  1. Straight to bulk

    Quantities and details

    • How many, and the split across sizes
    • Any size in the range already made
    • Labels, packaging and delivery address

Made from your approved sample as it is.

  2. Mockup first

    Logos and names

    • A new or updated logo
    • A sponsor mark
    • A player or club name

Shown on a mockup for your approval, in the same branding method and placement.

  3. Colour approved first

    Colours

    • A new colourway of the same product

Matched to a colour reference you approve before bulk, or a sample if you prefer.

  4. New sample

    Shape, material or build

    • A new shape, pattern or fit
    • A different material or weight
    • Different padding, closure or lining
    • A different branding method

Made as a new sample for your approval before bulk.

Not sure which applies? Tell us the change with your reorder, and we confirm what it needs before you commit.

Who reorders

Proof

A brand that came back.

What arrived matched what we approved.

“We sell boxing, MMA and strength gear under the Athlomax name, so consistency matters more to us than anything. Sparwright made our wrist wraps, knee wraps, lifting straps, boxing gloves, MMA gloves and shin guards. We saw a mockup first, then a physical sample before committing to bulk. What arrived matched what we approved. Communication was straightforward despite the time difference. We've since reordered.”

Placing a reorder

How do I place a reorder?
Start a reorder on our quote form, or message the team. Tell us the product or your earlier order, the quantity for each size, and anything that should change.
What is the minimum order for a reorder?
25 pieces per design, or 25 pairs for gloves, split across sizes in any mix, for a repeat of a design you have already approved.
How long does a reorder take?
With no sampling stage, bulk typically takes 3–5 weeks for apparel and gis, and 4–6 weeks for gloves and padded gear, from your order confirmation, plus courier transit. Your dispatch date is confirmed in writing.
How is a reorder priced?
Each reorder is quoted in writing before you commit, for the quantities and any changes you ask for. When nothing changes, there is no new sample to pay for.

Matching and changes

Do I need a new sample for a reorder?
No, if nothing changes. Your reorder is made and checked against the sample you approved, which stays in our workshop.
Will my reorder match my first order?
That is what the approved sample is for. Your reorder is made to the same stored specification and checked against the same physical sample before dispatch, so the colours, fit and branding match the first order.
Can I change sizes, colours or the logo on a reorder?
Quantities, and sizes in the range already made, need no new sample. A new logo, sponsor mark or name is approved on a mockup first, and a new colourway is matched to a colour reference you approve. A change of shape, material, construction or branding method needs a new sample.
How long do you keep my approved sample?
For at least two years after your last order, and your specification and artwork stay on file. If your last order was a while ago, send its details and we confirm your sample is on file before you commit.
