Import duty

Import duty on boxing gloves and fight gear made in Pakistan.

Pakistan is a beneficiary of the EU's GSP+ scheme and the UK's Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS). Both can reduce or remove import duty on qualifying goods.

Whether your order qualifies depends on the product’s tariff classification and the scheme’s rules of origin, and a statement on origin from the exporter is needed to claim it.

Ask us about it before you order, and confirm the rate with your customs broker.

Before your first order

Your importer checklist

  1. An EORI numberNeeded to import into the UK or the EU as a business. Your courier or customs broker will ask for it.
  2. Your commodity codeThe tariff code that sets your duty rate. Your customs broker can confirm it for your product.
  3. A delivery address and contactWhere the courier delivers, and a name and number it can reach.
  4. Your packing and label instructionsBrand and care labels, retail packaging and carton marking, named in your brief.
  5. The delivery term in your quoteWho pays duty and VAT. Yours unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Questions

Shipping and export: common questions

What UK and European buyers ask before a first order from Pakistan.

Do you ship boxing gloves and fight gear to the UK and Europe?
Yes, they are our main markets. If your order ships somewhere else, tell us the destination in your brief.
How is my order shipped, and how is it priced?
By international courier, delivered to your door with a tracking number. The price is set by the weight and size of the cartons and the destination, and your quote sets it out, with the delivery terms, before you commit to anything.
Who pays import duty and VAT?
The buyer, unless we agree otherwise in writing. On a courier shipment, the courier usually collects duty and VAT from you before or on delivery. Goods made in Pakistan may qualify for reduced or zero duty under the EU's GSP+ scheme or the UK's DCTS; claiming it needs a statement on origin, so ask us about it, and confirm the rate with your customs broker.
What documents come with the shipment?
The commercial invoice and the packing list, which we prepare with the shipment, and the courier's air waybill, which carries the tracking number. Anything else your destination needs is agreed before dispatch.
Do I need an EORI number?
To import goods into the UK or the EU as a business, yes. HMRC issues UK EORI numbers, and EU numbers come from a member state's customs authority. Your courier or customs broker will ask for it.
What are Incoterms, and which one applies to my order?
The Incoterm is the delivery term that says where the seller's responsibility for a shipment ends and the buyer's begins. Under EXW the buyer collects from the seller's premises; under DAP the goods are delivered to the buyer's door and the buyer pays the import duty; under DDP the seller pays the duty too. The one that applies to your order is agreed before you commit.
Can we see how the order was checked before it ships?
Yes. The inspection record from the final check, with the count and carton details, can be shared on request.
