Specification

What goes into custom bag gloves

Bag gloves take the most punishment of any glove on a gym floor: round after round on heavy bags and pads. They are made with denser padding and a firmer wrist than a sparring glove, so the padding holds its shape and the wrist stays supported through repeated impact. We make them to your specification, and you approve a sample before bulk.

Choosing and using

Getting custom bag gloves right

Bag gloves or training gloves?

Training gloves are all-rounders: bag, pads and light partner work in one pair, which suits most club members. Bag gloves are for classes built around the heavy bag and pads, where the glove's job is to protect the hand through volume. Many clubs stock training gloves for members and bag gloves for bag-heavy classes, and keep sparring gloves separate.

A brand we make for

“What arrived matched what we approved.”

We sell boxing, MMA and strength gear under the Athlomax name, so consistency matters more to us than anything. Sparwright made our wrist wraps, knee wraps, lifting straps, boxing gloves, MMA gloves and shin guards. We saw a mockup first, then a physical sample before committing to bulk. What arrived matched what we approved. Communication was straightforward despite the time difference. We've since reordered.

Questions

Questions about custom bag gloves

7 answers buyers ask for most. Choose one to open it.

Still have a question?

Ask it the way you would ask a coach. A person replies within one working day.

Can bag gloves be used for sparring?
We recommend a dedicated sparring glove for sparring. Bag glove padding is denser and compacts with use, so it lands harder on a partner than a softer sparring glove of the same weight.
Which shell lasts longest on the heavy bag?
Genuine leather is the most durable shell for heavy use. Microfibre is a strong, tear-resistant alternative, and PU suits entry-level and high-turnover club stock. The shell is confirmed on your sample.
Can we mix weights in one order?
Yes. 50 pairs per design of one design can be split across weights in any mix, with no minimum per weight.
What do the mockup and sample cost?
Mockups are free, with as many changes as you need. The physical sample is priced on its specification and customisation, so its price depends on what you choose, and it is in your quote before we make it. The sample reaches you in 7–10 days, and when you go ahead with bulk, half of the sample price is credited against your bulk order. If the sample needs changes, the revised sample and its price are agreed with you before we make it. If a change is needed because we made a mistake, the revised sample is free.
Can you make bag gloves under our own brand?
Yes. Your logo, printed labels and packaging are part of the specification, and your artwork, mockups and approved specification stay yours. We never sell your design or make it for anyone else.
Will a reorder match the first batch?
Your approved sample stays in our workshop for at least two years after your last order and your specification is stored digitally, so a reorder doesn't need a new sample: it goes straight to production, from 25 per design. Your dispatch date is confirmed in writing when you place it. How reorders work
How long does an order take?
Production starts when you approve your sample, and bulk typically takes 4–6 weeks from approval, plus courier transit. Your exact dispatch date is confirmed in writing with your quote.
