Specification

What goes into custom competition gloves

Competition gloves are lighter and more compact than training gloves, typically 10 oz, and usually lace-up, for a tight, even fit at the wrist on fight night. Brands sell them as their fight glove, and fight teams order them in team colours. We make them to your specification and you approve a sample before bulk. Governing bodies set their own glove rules, so check them for the events your fighters enter.

Choosing and using

Getting custom competition gloves right

Sanctioned bouts

Amateur and professional governing bodies set the gloves allowed in sanctioned bouts, and some require approved models. We do not claim approval from any governing body. Tell us in your brief which events the gloves are for, and what can be met is confirmed before you order.

Quick guide

Lace-up or hook-and-loop

Both closures are available and specified per order. Lace-up needs a second person to tie; hook-and-loop goes on and off without help.

A brand we make for

“What arrived matched what we approved.”

We sell boxing, MMA and strength gear under the Athlomax name, so consistency matters more to us than anything. Sparwright made our wrist wraps, knee wraps, lifting straps, boxing gloves, MMA gloves and shin guards. We saw a mockup first, then a physical sample before committing to bulk. What arrived matched what we approved. Communication was straightforward despite the time difference. We've since reordered.

Questions

Questions about custom competition gloves

7 answers buyers ask for most. Choose one to open it.

Still have a question?

Ask it the way you would ask a coach. A person replies within one working day.

Are your competition gloves approved for sanctioned bouts?
We do not claim approval from any governing body. Rules differ by organisation and some require approved models, so check the rules for the events your fighters enter and tell us in your brief.
Can competition gloves be made in team colours?
Yes. The shell, cuff and lace colours and your logo are set on your mockup and confirmed on the sample, within any colour rules your events set.
Can we order 8 and 10 oz in one design?
Yes. 50 pairs per design of one design can be split across weights in any mix, with no minimum per weight.
What do the mockup and sample cost?
Mockups are free, with as many changes as you need. The physical sample is priced on its specification and customisation, so its price depends on what you choose, and it is in your quote before we make it. The sample reaches you in 7–10 days, and when you go ahead with bulk, half of the sample price is credited against your bulk order. If the sample needs changes, the revised sample and its price are agreed with you before we make it. If a change is needed because we made a mistake, the revised sample is free.
Can you make competition gloves under our own brand?
Yes. Your logo, printed labels and packaging are part of the specification, and your artwork, mockups and approved specification stay yours. We never sell your design or make it for anyone else.
Will a reorder match the first batch?
Your approved sample stays in our workshop for at least two years after your last order and your specification is stored digitally, so a reorder doesn't need a new sample: it goes straight to production, from 25 per design. Your dispatch date is confirmed in writing when you place it. How reorders work
How long does an order take?
Production starts when you approve your sample, and bulk typically takes 4–6 weeks from approval, plus courier transit. Your exact dispatch date is confirmed in writing with your quote.
