What goes into custom training gloves

Training gloves are the all-round glove: the pair a member uses for the heavy bag, the pads and light partner work in the same session. Most club kit starts here, because one glove covers every class. They are typically 8 to 16 oz, with padding balanced between protecting the hand on the bag and protecting a partner in drills. We make them to your specification, shell, padding, closure, colours and logo, and you approve a sample before anything goes to bulk.

Choosing and using

Getting custom training gloves right

One glove for every class

A training glove is specified for range, not for one job. It has enough padding over the knuckles for heavy bag and pad rounds, and enough give for light drills with a partner, so a member can train a whole session in one pair.

That makes it the usual first order for a club and the glove a new intake is kitted out in. Members who spar regularly often add a dedicated sparring glove later, kept apart from the bag.

Custom training gloves under your own name

Building a glove brand? A training glove is usually the first product in the range. The padding profile, shell, colours, labels and box are all part of your specification, approved on a sample. The approved sample is kept in our workshop, so every restock matches.

  • Your design stays yours. Artwork, mockups and the approved spec are yours. We never make your design for anyone else.
  • Your spec on file. The approved sample stays in our workshop, so every restock matches the first.

A brand we make for

“What arrived matched what we approved.”

We sell boxing, MMA and strength gear under the Athlomax name, so consistency matters more to us than anything. Sparwright made our wrist wraps, knee wraps, lifting straps, boxing gloves, MMA gloves and shin guards. We saw a mockup first, then a physical sample before committing to bulk. What arrived matched what we approved. Communication was straightforward despite the time difference. We've since reordered.

Questions

Questions about custom training gloves

8 answers buyers ask for most. Choose one to open it.

Still have a question?

Ask it the way you would ask a coach. A person replies within one working day.

What is the difference between training and sparring gloves?
A training glove is the all-round glove for bag, pads and light partner work. A sparring glove is kept for partner work only, with softer, more even padding and usually 14 to 16 oz, so it stays kind to a partner. Many clubs start with training gloves and add a sparring set later. Custom sparring gloves
Can one order cover every member's weight?
Yes. 50 pairs per design of one design can be split across weights in any mix, with no minimum per weight, so juniors, women and heavier members are kitted out in one order. It can also be split across colourways, with at least 25 in each.
Leather or synthetic for club training gloves?
Genuine leather lasts longest and suits a premium glove. Microfibre and PU wipe clean easily, which suits gloves shared across a club or used in busy classes. The shell is confirmed on your sample.
Can the gloves be in our club colours?
Yes. The shell, cuff and trim colours and your logo are set on your mockup, and you see them on the physical sample before bulk.
What do the mockup and sample cost?
Mockups are free, with as many changes as you need. The physical sample is priced on its specification and customisation, so its price depends on what you choose, and it is in your quote before we make it. The sample reaches you in 7–10 days, and when you go ahead with bulk, half of the sample price is credited against your bulk order. If the sample needs changes, the revised sample and its price are agreed with you before we make it. If a change is needed because we made a mistake, the revised sample is free.
Can you make training gloves under our own brand?
Yes. Your logo, printed labels and packaging are part of the specification, and your artwork, mockups and approved specification stay yours. We never sell your design or make it for anyone else.
Will a reorder match the first batch?
Your approved sample stays in our workshop for at least two years after your last order and your specification is stored digitally, so a reorder doesn't need a new sample: it goes straight to production, from 25 per design. Your dispatch date is confirmed in writing when you place it. How reorders work
How long does an order take?
Production starts when you approve your sample, and bulk typically takes 4–6 weeks from approval, plus courier transit. Your exact dispatch date is confirmed in writing with your quote.
