What goes into custom body protectors

Chest guards and body protectors take the shots to the body in sparring and pad work. A chest guard covers the chest; a body protector covers the chest and the body below it, and is the one a coach wears to take body shots on the pads. We make them to your specification, coverage, shell, padding, straps, colours and logo, in the same colours as the rest of your kit, and you approve a sample before bulk.

    A chest guard for the chest, or a body protector that covers the chest and the body below it, set in your specification.

    Genuine leather for a premium protector, microfibre for long life in shared club stock, or PU for entry-level and youth protectors that wipe clean.

    The padding profile is set for the use, sparring or pad work, and confirmed on your sample, so you can test it before bulk.

    Hook-and-loop straps or elastic at the sides and shoulders, adjusting the fit inside each size, fitted on the sample.

    Shell, panel and trim colours matched to your gloves and head guards on the sample. Each colourway needs at least 25.

    Your logo on the front panel, where it stays visible in use, by DTF, heat transfer or screen print. Labels are printed, not woven.

Getting custom body protectors right

Chest guard or body protector

A chest guard covers the chest and suits sparring where the chest is the area to protect. A body protector covers the chest and the body below it, so a coach can take body shots on the pads round after round, or a member can spar body shots in training.

Each is a different product with its own patterns, so each needs its own minimum. The coverage and padding of either are set in your specification and confirmed on your sample.

What is the difference between a chest guard and a body protector?
A chest guard covers the chest. A body protector covers the chest and the body below it, and is what a coach usually wears to take body shots on the pads. Each is its own product with its own minimum.
Can the protectors match our gloves and head guards?
Yes. One colour reference and one logo treatment carry across body protectors, head guards and gloves in the same order. Each product has its own minimum.
Do you make youth sizes?
Yes, a youth size alongside S to XL, in the same colours and branding. Youth and adult sizes of the same design count towards one 50 pieces per design.
What do the mockup and sample cost?
Mockups are free, with as many changes as you need. The physical sample is priced on its specification and customisation, so its price depends on what you choose, and it is in your quote before we make it. The sample reaches you in 7–10 days, and when you go ahead with bulk, half of the sample price is credited against your bulk order. If the sample needs changes, the revised sample and its price are agreed with you before we make it. If a change is needed because we made a mistake, the revised sample is free.
Can you make body protectors under our own brand?
Yes. Your logo, printed labels and packaging are part of the specification, and your artwork, mockups and approved specification stay yours. We never sell your design or make it for anyone else.
Will a reorder match the first batch?
Your approved sample stays in our workshop for at least two years after your last order and your specification is stored digitally, so a reorder doesn't need a new sample: it goes straight to production, from 25 per design. Your dispatch date is confirmed in writing when you place it. How reorders work
