Made for grips, not for heavy striking
A grappling glove gives up padding for freedom. The palm is cut wide open and the fingers are left free, often without loops, so a member can grip a wrist, frame against a hip or control a collar tie without fighting the glove.
That makes it the glove for wrestling, BJJ and grappling-heavy MMA sessions, where the strikes are light. For hard striking or sparring, a hybrid or sparring glove with more knuckle padding protects the hand and the partner better.
