How much do custom boxing gloves cost?

What moves the unit price of custom boxing gloves: shell, padding, closure, branding, packaging, quantity, shipping and duty, and how a quote prices it.

Why there is no price list

A custom boxing glove is not one product with one price. A synthetic club glove with a one-colour logo in a polybag and a genuine leather lace-up in a printed box are both custom gloves, and they are priced very differently. Any figure given before the specification is known would be a guess, and a guess that changes after the sample is worse than no figure at all.

What can be said in advance is what moves the price. Knowing that lets you decide where to spend, and where a cheaper choice will not be noticed by the people using the gloves.

The shell material

The outer is the biggest single choice. In the same construction, synthetic leathers (PU, Rexine, Maya hide) cost least per pair, microfibre sits above them, and genuine cowhide or buffalo leather costs most. Leather also takes longer to cut, because each hide varies and is cut around its marks, where synthetic sheet comes off a uniform roll.

For gloves a gym lends to members or a kids' class shares, synthetic usually gives the best value. For a premium brand line, the leather is part of what the customer is paying for.

Padding, construction and closure

Inside the shell, the padding is chosen for the use: training, sparring or bag work. A glove built in layers for heavy bag work uses more material and more assembly than a light training glove. Weight matters too: a 16 oz sparring glove carries more padding than an 8 oz glove of the same design.

  • Closure: hook-and-loop is quick for club use; lace-up gives a tighter fit and uses different components and finishing.
  • Panels and colours: every extra panel or colour in the design is another piece to cut and stitch.
  • Lining and details: a sublimated lining, contrast piping or a shaped thumb add work, and each is priced as part of the specification.

Branding: method, colours and positions

On a glove, the logo goes on by DTF or heat transfer, which handles fine detail and several colours in one pass. What moves the cost is how many designs there are and how many positions each glove carries: a logo on the cuff is one transfer, a logo on the cuff, the back of the hand and the thumb is three.

Across a wider range, screen print on cotton tees and hoodies needs one screen per colour, so a one- or two-colour logo keeps the set-up down, and sublimation on rash guards prints full colour at no extra cost per colour. Embroidery, embossing and patches are not offered.

Where to save

One logo, in one or two positions, matched across the range, usually looks stronger than many logos in many places, and it costs less to set up and to reorder.

Labels and packaging

Every glove can carry a printed brand, size and care label. Beyond that, packaging ranges from a plain polybag to a printed box with an insert and a hang tag, and each step up adds to the unit price. A club handing gloves to members rarely needs a retail box; a brand selling online or in shops usually does.

Quantity and how it splits

The minimum order is 50 pairs per design for gloves, a design being one glove in one colourway. Above it, the set-up for each design, transfer and box is spread across more pairs, so the unit price usually falls as the order grows. How the order splits matters too: sizes and weights can be mixed freely within a design, but every extra colourway is a separate design with its own set-up.

A second colourway needs its own 50, and different products can't be combined to reach the minimum, because each has its own patterns and set-up. Your quote shows the split, so you know before you commit what a change to it would do.

Shipping, duty and the landed cost

The price per pair at the factory is not what the gloves cost you on arrival. Orders ship to the UK and Europe by international courier, priced by the weight and size of the cartons and the destination, and the quote sets that out with the delivery terms.

Import duty and VAT are the buyer's responsibility unless agreed otherwise in writing, and on a courier shipment the courier usually collects them. Goods made in Pakistan may qualify for reduced or zero duty under the EU's GSP+ scheme or the UK's DCTS, so ask about it, and confirm the rate with your customs broker.

Getting a quote you can rely on

The quickest way to a firm price is a clear brief: the use, the material if you have a preference, the closure, the weights, your logo and where it goes, the packaging and a rough quantity. A person reads it and replies with a quote for exactly that specification, or with the questions that decide one.

The mockup and the physical sample are free, and the sample is delivered in 7–10 days, so you can hold the glove you are being quoted for before you order in bulk. Bulk production typically takes 4–6 weeks from sample approval, plus courier transit. Your exact dispatch date is confirmed in writing with your quote.

Common questions

Can you give me a rough price per pair?
Not without the specification. The shell, padding, closure, branding, packaging and quantity each move the unit price, so the quote prices your exact glove rather than a range that might not apply.
Do I pay for the mockup or the sample?
No. Mockups and samples are free, and a sample is delivered in 7–10 days.
Is shipping included in the quote?
The shipping method, cost and delivery terms are set out with the quote. Import duty and local taxes are the buyer's responsibility unless agreed otherwise in writing.
What makes the biggest difference to the price?
Usually the shell material and the quantity. After those, the number of branding positions and the packaging.
