What goes into custom prong lifting belts

A prong belt is the classic leather lifting belt: a steel roller buckle with one or two prongs that go through a row of holes, so the lifter sets the tightness hole by hole. Single prong belts are quick to put on and suit most gym members; double prong belts hold the belt more evenly under heavy loads. We make both 4 in (10 cm) wide in genuine cowhide or buffalo leather, 10 or 13 mm thick, to your specification, and you approve a sample belt before bulk.

Choosing and using

Getting custom prong lifting belts right

Single prong, double prong or lever?

A single prong belt is the quickest to adjust and the usual choice for gym stock. A double prong belt has two prongs through two rows of holes, so it holds more evenly under heavy squats and pulls. A lever belt closes to the same tightness every time, which suits lifters who always wear it at one setting.

Each closure is its own product with its own minimum, but they can share one leather, colour and logo, so a gym or brand can stock all three.

Questions

Questions about custom prong lifting belts

8 answers buyers ask for most. Choose one to open it.

Still have a question?

Ask it the way you would ask a coach. A person replies within one working day.

Single prong or double prong lifting belt?
A single prong belt is quicker to adjust and suits most gym members. A double prong belt holds more evenly under heavy squats and deadlifts. Both are made in the same leathers, thicknesses and sizes.
Prong belt or lever belt?
A prong belt adjusts hole by hole and suits lifters who change the setting between lifts. A lever belt closes to the same tightness every time. We make both, and they can share one design. Custom lever lifting belts
Should I choose 10 mm or 13 mm leather?
10 mm belts are more flexible and easier to break in, so they suit general strength training. 13 mm belts are stiffer and give more support, so they are popular for heavy powerlifting. The thickness is confirmed on your sample.
Are your prong belts legal for powerlifting competitions?
They are made to the IPF's limits for belts: up to 10 cm wide and 13 mm thick. Federations set their own rules and some approve specific belts, so lifters should check their federation before competing. We do not claim approval for any federation.
What do the mockup and sample cost?
Mockups are free, with as many changes as you need. The physical sample is priced on its specification and customisation, so its price depends on what you choose, and it is in your quote before we make it. The sample reaches you in 7–10 days, and when you go ahead with bulk, half of the sample price is credited against your bulk order. If the sample needs changes, the revised sample and its price are agreed with you before we make it. If a change is needed because we made a mistake, the revised sample is free.
Can you make prong lifting belts under our own brand?
Yes. Your logo, printed labels and packaging are part of the specification, and your artwork, mockups and approved specification stay yours. We never sell your design or make it for anyone else.
Will a reorder match the first batch?
Your approved sample stays in our workshop for at least two years after your last order and your specification is stored digitally, so a reorder doesn't need a new sample: it goes straight to production, from 25 per design. Your dispatch date is confirmed in writing when you place it. How reorders work
How long does an order take?
Production starts when you approve your sample, and bulk typically takes 4–6 weeks from approval, plus courier transit. Your exact dispatch date is confirmed in writing with your quote.
